Priesthood and Leaders Retreat: "What Is Truth?" (Apr. 25 - 27, 2025)

We are excited to invite you to our upcoming priesthood and leaders retreat. It's a chance to step away from the hustle and bustle of daily life and reconnect with yourself and nature. Join us for a rejuvenating experience filled with relaxation, reflection, and revitalization. Together with friends we will reflect on the theme: “What is truth?” Seventy Rob Heverling, full-time pastor of the Council Bluffs Central Congregation will be our guest minister.

During our time together, we'll explore the impact of misinformation, disinformation, and divisive politics in our nation and communities. Some questions we'll consider include:

  • How can one obtain reliable information?

  • What is the impact of bias and confirmation bias?

  • How do we recognize logical fallacies?

  • Why is it important to consume a balance of information and opinions?

  • What are the implications for peace and justice in our own ministry?

Rob brings a background as a news director for numerous network affiliate television stations in Cleveland, Little Rock, Buffalo and elsewhere around the country. Rob attended Graceland University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in English with a writing concentration.

We are blessed as a faith community to have access to such a beautiful retreat center and talented ministers to share with us. Don't miss this opportunity to connect with others and grow.

Registration closes on April 11 at midnight. I hope you'll consider joining us for this brief but impactful opportunity to gather in sacred community.
