ABOUT US

The Southern Utah Community of Christ congregation is a welcoming community centered on the Enduring Principle of the Worth of All Persons. We seek to uphold and restore the worth of all people individually and in community, challenging unjust systems that diminish human worth. We invite people of all ages, creeds, disabilities, family backgrounds, gender identities and expressions, races, sexual orientations, and socioeconomic statuses to worship with us and participate in the life of our community. We believe that doubt is a part of faith, and wherever you find yourself on your spiritual journey, we welcome you here.

Our congregation was founded in December 2015 in response to the LDS Church’s Exclusion Policy, which denied church ordinances to children of same sex couples. Community of Christ offers full membership to LGBTQIA+ people and their families. This means full participation in all sacraments, including marriage and ordination. In Southern Utah Community of Christ, we extend an extravagant welcome to all, including LGBTQIA+ individuals. We are committed to working within the broader community to further social justice.
